Tired of all the kids in seafood culinary school class challenging you to make a good abalone recipe that uses avocado? Through racking your brain trying to come up with some kind of method to create an abalone recipe that combines these two great tastes in a way that preserves the unique texture and flavor of both ingredients? Well whip out some abalone steaks, eggs, canned green chili peppers, a few avocados, bread crumbs, and some real imported mozzarella cheese, and get ready to show them all!
Now tenderize those steaks real good, nobody likes an abalone recipe prepared with tough, rubbery abalone. Beat your eggs in a large bowl and drown your steaks in the whipped egg. Fill a bag with the crumbs and throw the steaks in, shaking them around until bread crumbs are stuck to every inch. This abalone recipe does require some good slicing skills, as you must slice both cheese and avocado thinly, following suit with the green peppers. Top abalone steaks with your cheese, pepper, and avocado slices, roll them up nicely, and skewer with a tall sandwich toothpick (plastic tassel-free). Arrange in a casserole and bake at 175º uncovered for 15 minutes. We have not included instructions regarding what kind of, and at what times we recommend that you consume the fine cold brew of your choice during preparation - this you must improvise.
